Stephen Carr (figure skater)

Stephen Alexander Carr ( born January 6, 1966 in Sydney, New South Wales ) is an Australian former figure skater who competed in single run and pair skating.

Between 1985 and 1998 Stephen Carr took with his sister Danielle Carr ( from 1996 married McGrath ) as a sports pair of world championships and three times at the Olympic Winter Games in part. By 1990 the couple had subscribed to places at the end of the field. In the later years, they managed to work its way into the midfield. Carr is a pair skater unusually small (1.67 m), his sister only measures 1.48 m.

At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, and at various World Championships between 1990 and 1996 Carr was also as individual runners at the start. He is thus one of the few athletes in the recent figure skating history, which operated both disciplines at the same time on an international level. However, his achievements were modest as individual runners. Only in 1994, he managed to qualify in Olympic competition and in the subsequent World Cup for the Kürfinale.

Carr started skating club for the Sydney Figure.
