Stephen Rollnick

Stephen Rollnick ( born September 15, 1952) is a British psychologist who is a professor at Cardiff University and in collaboration with William R. Miller, the method of motivational interviewing (Motivational Interviewing) developed.

Life

Rollnick grew up in Cape Town ( South Africa), studied psychology at the University of Glasgow and trained in Cardiff in Clinical Psychology. He then worked for the National Health Service ( NHS ), especially with addicted patients. Based on the experience in the addiction help, he developed in close collaboration with William R. Miller, the method of motivational interviewing, which was originally designed solely for the therapeutic treatment of addicts.
