Stereom

Stereom (from Greek sterigein = " base ") is a rarely used collective term for the strengthening tissue in land plants: collenchyma, sclerenchyma and libriform fibers.

In echinoderms Stereom called their calcite skeleton of mesodermal origin with intracellular origin.
