Stevan Harnad

Stevan Harnad, originally István Hernád, ( born June 2, 1945 in Budapest, Hungary), is a scientist, currently teaching Cognitive Science at the University of Southampton and the Université du Québec à Montréal.

Harnad, the founder of the archive Cogprints (Electronic Preprint Archive in the Cognitive Sciences) and the journal " Behavioral and Brain Sciences", is one of the leaders of the Open Access movement, which advocates for the free availability of scientific literature on the internet.
