Steve Clark (swimmer)

Stephen Edward Clark ( born June 17, 1943 in Oakland, California ) is a former American swimmer and triple Olympic champion.

1960, when he still attended the Los Altos High School, he entered the first time in the Olympic Games and swam in the heats for the U.S. swimming seasons. He then attended Yale and won the University Championships five NCAA titles. At the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964, he was finally able to win three gold medals with the seasons. After Yale Clark went to Harvard Law School and wrote a book about competitive swimming.

One of Clark's strengths were his extremely fast turns. He could field a total of nine world records.

Clark was taken in 1966 in the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale. In 2005 he donated to the Yale University one of his gold medals.
