Steve Franken

Stephen Robert Franken ( born May 27, 1932 in Queens, New York City; † August 24, 2012 in Canoga Park, Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Stephen Robert Franks was born the son of a Hollywood press agent. After graduating from Cornell University, he studied against the wishes of his parents acting at the prestigious Actors Studio. His Broadway debut was in 1958 in the play Edwin Booth. In the same year he made his debut in a small supporting role in the romantic drama One day the door opens as a film actor. A year later he received the role of Chatsworth Osborne, Jr. on the sitcom The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, which he played from 1959 to 1963 in 32 episodes. During the subsequent television adaptation The visit of the rich widow in 1988, he returned back to the same role. In his entire career franc was seen in more than 150 productions.

On 24 August 2012, died at the age of 80 years francs to the effects of cancer in a nursing home in Canoga Park. He was married twice in his life. On October 17, 1965, he married Julia E. Carter, with whom he had two children together later. After the divorce, he married Jean Garrett. They were married until his death and had a child together.
