Steve Purcell

Steve Purcell (* in Northern California) is an American cartoonist, animator and game designer.

Life

Purcell attended the early 1980s, the California College of the Arts, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and where he met Mike Mignola. There are also first comics with Sam & Max in the student newspaper published.

After graduation, he worked briefly for Marvel Comics. In 1987, a first, 32 -page Sam & Max comic strip before Purcell was first made in the following year by LucasArts as an animator under contract. After his original project was canceled, he worked on Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders and designed the cover for Maniac Mansion and Monkey Iceland. In between, he published more Sam & Max comic books.

1992 acquired the rights to LucasArts Purcell figures and produced the game Sam & Max Hit the Road. During the programming of the computer game he married the one involved in the development of game designer Collette Michaud. After leaving LucasArts, 1997, a 24 -piece based on Sam & Max animated series, which aired on Fox Kids was born. Then Purcell worked in the short term at Industrial Light & Magic, but then changed to Pixar, where he worked on the script of the movie Cars, and also worked as a voice actor. He was involved in the episode as a writer and speaker on the movie based on the computer games.

After 2005, the license of LucasArt had expired, Purcell forgave them to Telltale Games. Since then, Sam & Max games are published in episode form. In 2007 he received the Eisner Award for a published on the website of Telltale Sam & Max webcomic.
