Steve Railsback

Steve Railsback ( born November 16, 1948 in Dallas, Texas ) is an American actor.

Life and achievements

Railsback studied acting with Lee Strasberg and the Actors Studio. At the end of the 1960s and in the 1970s he appeared in the New York theaters. His film debut was in the thriller The visitors of Elia Kazan from the year 1972. In the action-comedy The long death of stuntman Cameron, he took along with Peter O'Toole and Barbara Hershey in the title role of Cameron, for he 1981 for a Golden Globe Award for Best young actor was nominated.

In SF action movie island of the damned, he took over the lead role. In the SF- horror film Lifeforce - The deadly threat he starred alongside Peter Firth one of the main roles. In the thriller Final Instinct, he joined one of the leading roles alongside Sharon Stone. For the lead role in the thriller Ed Gein - The Wisconsin Serial Killer 2000 he won a prize from the Festival Internacional de Cinema de Catalunya and in 2001 a prize from the Mostra Internazionale del movie de Fantascienza e del Fantastico di Roma.

Railsback was married in 1980 to 1988 with Jackie Giroux, with whom he has a child. In 1990 he married Marcy, he has two children with her.
