Steven Shainberg
Steven Shainberg ( born February 5, 1963) is an American film director and film producer.
Shainberg made at Yale University in New Haven ( Connecticut ) a degree in the subjects of English Literature and East Asian Studies. He then worked as an assistant director, production coordinator and assistant editor. He is also an independent film producer.
At the film school of the American Film Institute he made four short films. The Prom starring Jennifer Jason Leigh won the Grand Prize at the Houston International Film Festival, the Critics' Prize at the Breckenridge Film Festival and the Silver Medal for the drama category at the New York Film Festival.
1998 was to see Mr. Virgil almost six months on MTV 's short film series.
The breakthrough came in 2002 with the film Shainberg Secretary. For him, he was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
