Stevinus (crater)

Stevinus is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, south of the Mare Fecunditatis, northwest and southwest of the crater Furnerius Snell and the northwest verlaufendem of Stevinus in a southeasterly direction moon valley Vallis Snell. The crater is hardly eroded, has pronounced terraces and flat inside a central mountain.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the Flemish mathematician and physicist Simon Stevin.
