Stiftelsen (band)

Stiftelsen is a Swedish pop rock from Ljungaverk.

Band History

After the third number-one album in a row by Takida decided Robert Pettersson, the singer of the band in 2011 to take a break. With three childhood friends, guitarist Mikael Eriksson, bassist Arne Johansson and drummer Martin Kallstrom, he had already founded a year earlier, a second band called Stiftelsen. It is named after the eponymous residential area in their shared hometown Ljungaverk. With the band Pettersson wanted to also create an alternative to the moody rock of Takida and loose to turn popigeren sounds and a broader mix of styles. He also writes the Stiftelsen texts not in English, but in his Swedish mother tongue.

Coinciding with the first song Vart jag CHANGE går had the quartet in the summer of 2012 a great success. Six weeks it was number one and has been awarded seven times platinum. It is one of the most successful songs of the Swedish chart history, topping charts with 64 weeks to hit Curly Sue by Takida by one week. The debut album Ljungaverk managed then ranked only two, but five other songs of the album were still in the charts.

Not even a year after the first publication was followed by En annan värld the first song of the second album. In early November 2013, appeared DOPET and immediately debuted at number one on the album charts.
