Stipe Erceg

Stipe Erceg [ ɛrt͡seg ] ( born October 30, 1974 in Split, Croatia ) is a German actor of Croatian origin.

Life

Erceg came with his parents at the age of four years from Germany and lived in Tübingen. After graduation, he spent some time in New York. From 1996 to 2000 he studied acting training at the European Theatre Institute in Berlin and attended parallel to the Grotowski Centre in Pontedera, Italy.

His theater debut was in 1998 at the Studio Theatre Hanns Eisler in Berlin. In the short film Kiki and Tiger by Alain Gsponer he put 2001/2002 for the first time his talent as a film actor to the test. This film also Hans Weingartner was aware of him and occupied with it the feature film The Edukators, which was in competition at the film festival in Cannes 2004. It followed the film SommerHundeSöhne the director Cyril Tuschi. His penchant for "broken types " he demonstrated in the award- winning film The type (2003) and in the TV movie clearcutting (2006 ), both directed by Patrick Tauss. In 2007 he played the role of the RAF terrorist Holger Meins in the film adaptation of Stefan Aust's best-selling The Baader Meinhof Complex.

Stipe Erceg is married with two children and lives in Berlin.
