Career

In his youth, the 15-fold Croatian youth international Stipe Matic played for Hajduk Split. In the same club he collected from 1998 to 2001 and his first experience as a professional footballer (where he was not rented for half a year at NK Mosor Žrnovnica 1999). This was followed by a career odyssey. Practically in clock, he moved from Hajduk Split for Hungarian club Vasas SC, then to the Bosnian-Herzegovinian NK Posušje and finally for the first time to Western Europe, more specifically in Switzerland, to FC Zurich. For the people of Zurich, he came regularly used ( 22 times ) and posted here even his first three goals. However, he already changed again the following season, after Israel Hapoel Be'er Sheva. After a brief return to Posušje, he played eight games for the Polish club Gornik Zabrze before he moved to Switzerland again - to FC Wil.

At FC Wil Matic was a certain continuity - four years played the central defender at the Challenge League Club before he noticed the FC Thun and the 2010/11 season towards switching to intermediates. In the Bernese countries of the Croat signed a contract until 30 June 2012, with club side, there is still the option to extend the contract by one year. Matic heard since his move to FC Thun to the starting eleven and is a great support in the Thun strong back line, which is the second strongest defense in the league.
