Stoislav I

Stoislaw I. ( † after 1193 ) is considered a possible ancestor of the noble family of Putbus.

Life

After Pomeranian chronicler Thomas Kantzow Stoislaw was a son of Prince Ratislaus of Rügen ( Ratze ). However, the assertion Kantzows is undetectable, so that is also questionable above he was in fact a brother of Prince Tezlaw and Jaromar I..

In the founding charter for the monastery Bergen auf Rügen 1193 also Stoislaw after Barnuta and Wizlaw I., sons Jaromars I, known with his son Isaac.

Stoislaw had on Rügen, the country Reddevitz (later Moenchgut ), the parishes Vilmnitz and flanks as well as the Little Jasmund the area around litter. On the mainland, the area belonged to him Borantenhaghen (now Brandshagen, south of Stralsund ).

The 1249 church was first mentioned in Vilmnitz, the former burial place of those Putbus, may have been constructed already under Stoislaw.
