Stranded (video game)

Stranded is an adventure game in the first-person view, in which the player takes on the role of a castaway on a desert island and fighting for survival.

Game play

There are two distinct modes: play on a single island, or on a random island. The individual islands often contain smaller orders that must be satisfied the player to win. They can also be edited in the built- in game editor and re-created.

The mode random island generates a specified heightmap and placed it at random objects such as palm trees and animals. The goal here is to get as long to survive on the island until you manage to build a raft, with which you can escape from the island. There are several ways to procure food: By simply harvests of grain, by killing animals and their meat eating or even manages to bake bread. Freshwater springs ensure that the player gets enough to drink. In addition, water from sources in combination can be stored with a sheet in the inventory and any time be drunk without the player has to rely on one source.

An important element of the game is the ability to combine items. Thus, for practical tools, such as hammers, spears, axes and assemble with the help of the players can unlock new options. Thus, for example, with the hammer several huts and tree houses and build a campfire. If the player has collected enough experience in assembling, he can finally build a raft and thus try to escape from the island.

Continuation

In July 2007, the sequel was published four years after the first part, entitled Stranded II, was released in 2008 an update. The graphics have been greatly improved in relation to the predecessor and the game extended by an " adventure " mode in which the player can play through a complex story that leads him to several different islands. In addition, there are many more objects than Stranded II in the first part, for example Boxes, new palm trees and gold bag, so there are new ways to play and combinations of objects.
