Booz & Company is an international strategy consulting. It has 3,300 employees. Revenues for the fiscal year 2007/ 08 to 1.0 billion U.S. dollars, in German-speaking, the company came to 252 million euros.

History

After his master's degree at Northwestern University in 1914 on psychological tests for vocational aptitude Edwin G. Booz founded the same year in Chicago a private company for production of studies and statistical analyzes for the economy. A year later he started a joint venture under the name of Business Research & Development Company. The company examined the competition in various industries. After four years, Edwin Booz founded in 1919 the Business Engineering Service.

The first customer was the State Bank & Trust in Evanston, Illinois, which granted him a loan. The company was renamed in 1924 in Edwin Booz Surveys and George Fry 1925 set as the second employee. Jim Allen was added as the third employee in 1929, six years later, Carl Hamilton joined the company. 1936, the company was reorganized as a partnership and renamed Booz, Fry, Allen & Hamilton.

Since August 2008, the strategy consulting firm Booz & Company is independent of the technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton; the latter is next to Halliburton, a leading company in the field of military services to the U.S. Department of Defense.

In German-speaking Booz & Company is represented by the opening of an office in Dusseldorf since 1965. Additional offices were opened in Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich and Stuttgart.

Until the 1980s, Booz & Company was also active in the field of executive search ( recruitment ). Sidney Boyden, who founded his own company later, here was one of the lead partners.

The German Federal Government will seek the opinion of Booz.

On October 30, 2013 it was announced that PricewaterhouseCoopers seeks a takeover of Booz & Company. An approval by the antitrust authorities is still pending.
