Stratum (linguistics)#Adstratum

The term Adstrat (from Latin ad " (her ) to " " (back ) to " " (her / da) at " and the Latin stratum " layer " ) refers to a phenomenon that arises from the historical language contact.

In contrast to Adstrat the names substrate ( " underclass" ) and superstrate have ( " overcoat " ), which are also used in the Kreolistik, a somewhat negative connotation, because they imply that any language other subjects and this language then goes down. These latter two are associated with conquest. Against this background, it was marked as a neutral term alternative Adstrat.

Under Adstratwirkung one understands mutual linguistic and cultural influences, which can be defined as a cultural contact. Adstrat refers to the influence of another language as a result of long -Ending neighborhood.

This went on for example the French word orgueil ( dt, Pride ' ) to " wandering " because it was taken from the Franconian into French and then passed over the Catalan ( orgull ) to the Spanish ( orgullo ).
