Strike ( original Russian title Стачка ) is a silent film directed by Sergei Eisenstein in 1925. It is the first long film Eisenstein, who was his most famous work, The Battleship Potemkin, rotate in the same year. As the movie title suggests, it is about a labor dispute, which is eventually defeated.

Action

The action takes place in Tsarist times. At the beginning of the unrest is portrayed among the workers of a factory in the face of low wages and poor working conditions. The factory management is trying to keep the situation under control by infiltrates spies and agents into the ranks of the workers. It adheres to the worldview of the Communist leadership, but finds his own expressive and expressionistic imagery.
