Struan Stevenson

Struan Stevenson ( born April 4, 1948 in Ballantrae, Ayrshire ) is a Scottish politician ( Conservative Party ).

Stevenson acquired at agricultural college west of Scotland and the State Medical Academy in Semipalatinsk in Kazakhstan an honorary Doctor of Science. He was then director of a company in the field of agriculture and tourism, the Demarco Gallery in Edinburgh, a study group for international foreign affairs and defense and the Public Affairs Consultants in Edinburgh and Belfast.

Stevenson was 1992-1997 President of the Association of Scottish Conservative candidate and chairman of the Committee on the Arts and Heritage. Later, he was the spokesperson for the Environment, Transport, Media and the Arts and Chairman of the "Tuesday Club".

1999 Stevenson was first elected to the European Parliament, which he is to this day. In his first term he was there Deputy Chairman of the Intergroup Working Group on Sustainable Development and Co - Chairman of the Council of the European parliamentarians and industrialists.
