Student Bodies (Eng. about student bodies ) is a Canadian comedy series that was produced from 1997 to 2000 in Montreal, Quebec.

Action

Cody Miller founded with his friends Chris and Mags on the advice of the new classmate Emily a sort of underground newspaper, which is published alongside the official student newspaper Student Voice at Thomas A. Edison High School. Cody is responsible for this paper called Student Bodies a comic strip of the same name, which is a big part of the series. Similar to the later also broadcast on the station KI.KA series Lizzie McGuire Cody's opinion about the real events is humorously illustrated in a comic. Especially his rival Victor Kane, for his part editor of the official student newspaper, gives him the incentive to his comic daydreaming. Of course, also Cody's friends, including Emily, Grace, Holly and Kim, to be found in his comics. The problem however, is that Cody and his friends have to share with Victor and his loyal photographer flash an editorial.

Criticism

  • Bbc.co.uk wrote that the plot was partly very simple ( " simplistic storylines " ), the comic sequences but witty ( "witty " ) and a welcome change ( "welcome diversion " ) were.

Others

  • Although the series was filmed in Montreal, it was produced in English and also tried otherwise to give the impression that the high school would be in the U.S.
  • In the Canadian television series under the title Vice Versa (German vice versa) was broadcast.
  • The episode " Gay Friend" has not been broadcast on German television, apparently because the subject ( Emily's best friend outs himself as gay ) too risky for KI.KA was.
