Sturgeon Lake (Alberta)

The Sturgeon Lake is a lake in the Canadian province of Alberta.

The lake is located 90 km east of the city of Grande Prairie and 15 km west of Valley View. The connecting the two cities Alberta Highway 43 runs along the south shore of Sturgeon Lake. The place Sturgeon Heights is located at the western end. The Indian reservations Sturgeon Lake Sturgeon Lake 154 and 154A are located on the south or east bank of the lake. On the northern shore is the Young 's Point Provincial Park, on the south bank of the Williamson Provincial Park. The lake is geglieder into a main pool as well as in a west side adjacent bay. At the southeastern lake shore of Sturgeon Creek, a tributary of the Little Smoky River flows from out of the lake. 1949, the water level of Lake Sturgeon was raised by the construction of a drainage control structure by 0.76 m.

In the lake following fish species are caught: Walleye, American perch, Arctic grayling, pike and Heringsmaräne.
