The Stuttgart Municipal Airport is located 11.6 km north of Stuttgart, Arkansas in the United States.

History

In October 1942, just north of Stuttgart by the United States Army Air Forces, the Stuttgart Army Airfield furnished. These two start and runways and facilities were built for a total of 6,000 men. From October 1942 to May 1943 pilots were trained at Waco CG -4A glider, then pilots, including Women Airforce Service Pilots were trained on various single and multi -engine aircraft. In December 1944, the company was set and initially the War Assets Administration, and finally in 1949 the city of Stuttgart overwritten the site in August 1946. From 1959 to 1978 races were aligned by the Sports Car Club of America annually.

Today, the airport is used for general aviation, especially for the hunting season. In addition, the airport by the Air Force will be used for pilot training. During the administration of George W. Bush, the Air Force Two landed repeatedly in Stuttgart for hunting trips by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney.
