Stymie

Stymies (English for " prevented ") is a form of rule in golf that was in 1951 by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews ( R & A) and the United States Golf Association abolished. You said that balls may only be marked and recorded on the green when the two affected balls less than six inches apart. To a Stymie is so if a ball lies on the putting line of another ball. Since disabling this ball was not allowed to be included, you could play around him just above or below.

Today, a ball may be included on the green and trimmed, after his position was marked with a suitable ball marker. If this ball markers are located on the line of putt of another player, so this flag can also be added. After the player has performed his putt, the mark must be put to the original position.
