Suchá Lhota

Sucha Lhota ( German Lhota Sucha, also Dürrlhota ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south of Vysoke Myto and belongs to Okres Svitavy.

Geography

Sucha Lhota is located in the East Bohemian plateau. Neighboring towns are Bučina, Cerekvice nad Loučnou, Dolni Plesy and Horni Plesy in the northeast, Mošnovy and Újezdec in the east, Morašice, U Tří Kocourů and Makov the southeast, Chotovice in the south, Příluka the southwest, Vysoká in the west and Javorník in the northwest.

History

Lhota was one of the numerous established after Lhotensystem villages whose settlers were exempt for a certain period of royalties and services to the authorities. The first written mention of the village was in 1347, ruled as Archbishop Ernest of Pardubice, that he jointly associated with his brothers Bohuta, Smil and William of Pardubice village had to provide services to the Church of the Virgin Mary in Glatz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sucha Lhota formed a district of the municipality in the district Chotovice Litomyšl. 1903 Chotovice, Sucha Lhota and Příluka merged to form united community Chotovice. After its dissolution Sucha Lhota became independent. In 1929, 228 residents of the village. In this year also, the water tower was built.

In 1961 the village to Okres Svitavy. In 1966, the annexation took place after Příluka, since 1970 the village is independent again.
