Südliche Weinstraße Wildlife Park

The Animal and Nature Park Southern Wine Route is located in Wasgau, which is formed from the southern part of the Palatinate Forest and the northern part of the Vosges, near the local church Silz in the south of Rhineland- Palatinate. The park is named not according to the German Wine Road, which is about 6 miles away, but according to the County Southern Wine Route. History

The park is based on a planning study of the President of the Section Wildfreigehege of the International Hunting Association, Heinrich Prince Reuss. The then mayor of Silz, Franz Andelfinger, involved as Second Secretary at the district administration for Southern Wine Road to unite professional expertise and municipal needs and to settle the wild and walking park in the district Silz.

Species

15 different types of larger animals live here with about 400 individuals and can - in some cases in the wild - are observed.
