Jatwingisch (also Sudauisch, jatw. Jātviun / sūdaviun Bila ) was a West Baltic language of Yotvingians ( Baltic ), one related with the Prussians strain between the Vistula and Memel ( the Baltic States ). After the conquest of the territory by the German order of knights they died out, the Yotvingians went gradually in German, Lithuanian ( East Baltic ) and Slavic member.

Jatwingisch had six case ( nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, locative and vocative ) and a complex verbal morphology with different modes. It belonged to the border dialects of Urbaltischen why it preserved many archaic features that were lost in the Central Baltic area.

Many jatwingische loanwords exist in the Belarusian dialects. Written language certificates are not known, except for a short dictionary that is controversial.
