Sugar bowl (dishware)

A sugar bowl is a can for storing sugar. It is usually used in the catering industry with hinged lid, but is also part of a coffee or tea service with loose lid. This serves to protect against moisture and dust and has a recess for the most sugar spoon or sugar tongs. In contrast to sugar caster sugar bowl can also be used for sugar cubes or candy.

Paul Cézanne had used the sugar bowl in some still life as a motive.

The island of Negros was formerly called because of the extensive cultivation of sugar cane " sugar bowl of the Philippines ."
