Sulaiman Daud

Tan Sri Sulaiman Daud ( born March 4, 1933, Kuching, Sarawak, † March 23, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur ) was a Malaysian politician.

Biography

Daud studied post-school dentistry at the University of Otago in New Zealand and was after his graduation as Philosophiae Doctor ( Ph.D. Dentistry ) as a dentist in the State of Sarawak and service in the 1960s in the Health Office of Brunei active.

Later, he began a political career as Vice President of Parti Bumiputera Bersatu Pesaka, a party within the National Front ( Barisan Nasional ). As their representative, he was from 1974 to 2004 and a member of the House of Representatives ( Dewan Rakyat ) and represented the interests of Petra Jaya here.

On March 19, 1981, he became Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad first appointed to the Bundesregierun and was first Minister of Education. In a cabinet reshuffle, he was in 1984 Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, and then from 1986 to 1989 Minister of lands and regional development.
