Sulfathiazole ( STZ ) is an antibiotic in the class of drugs sulfa drugs. It is used, among other things, in animal husbandry and beekeeping ( against American foulbrood ), according to the EU Regulation, the application in this area is no longer permissible, as repeatedly occurring resistance ( outside the EU, partly still legal ). In veterinary medicine outside of these areas, it is still permissible.

In human medicine, is the active ingredient, for example in combination with corticosteroids, in preparations for the treatment of infectious inflammatory conditions of the skin application.
