Sullivan is a city that is a part of Crawford County and the other in Franklin County in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2000, Sullivan had 6,351 inhabitants; 2009 6.763 inhabitants were determined at the official estimate.

Geography

Sullivan is located at 38 ° 12'34 " north latitude and 91 ° 09'53 " west longitude and extending over 19.94 km ², which consist exclusively of land area. Sullivan is on the western edge of the Meramec State Park, one through which the Meramec River State Park.

History

The first white settlers arrived in the early 19th century in the area around the present town of Sullivan. Stephen Sullivan arrived with his wife in the company of Daniel Boone in the country on the Meramec River.
