Sulusaray

Sebastopolis ( Σεβαστούπολις, also Herakleopolis ) was removed on the river Çekerek an ancient city in Pontus, today the place Sulusaray, 68 km from Tokat and 30 km from Artova.

The oldest known name of the city was Karahna. It belonged to the dominion of Galanter's Ateporix.

In Byzantine times the city was one of Armenia Secunda. As bishops are busy:
