Summary

An abstract or summary is an overview of the main content of a text, film, or event. Common forms of content information is the table of contents, the abstract and other forms of documentary presentations. The English name Summary is common in scientific work. The Table of Contents is standardized in DIN standard DIN 1426.

Form

Unlike a summary or conclusion or a review content shall not include interpretations and evaluations. Unlike retellings of contents shall not contain arcs of tension and are usually in the presence (present, in Prematurity in the perfect tense ) may be drafted.

Because content data normally should be substantially shorter than the original text, they must necessarily omit portions of the content. They can serve as a means of indexing. In a book, a dissertation or the like, the Summary has usually one half to one page scope. You should ( not special ) represent the main results and methods used in general terminology.

Structure

A Table of Contents is divided into introduction, body and conclusion. In the introduction, title, author, text style, text source, time, place and main characters of the story are called. Then is described in a summary record of the content of the text ( key message ). In the main part of the most important action is specified in a correct sequence, and reference is made to the content and linguistic features. The conclusion may be a conclusion, but no personal opinion represent, and summarizes the main part together again, yet it must be factual.
