Sun of the Alps

The Alpine Sun ( Italian Sole delle Alpi ) is a round ornament, consisting of six " petals " which are constructed similar to the central rosette of the Flower of Life, surrounded by a ring that touches the tips of the petals and about as thick as the petals is. Since the mid- 1990s, a green colored version is used as a political symbol for Northern Italian regionalists and separatists view the Padania as an independent political entity in northern Italy. The icon is a registered trademark of Editoriale Nord Soc. Coop., ARL, Varese, publisher of the daily newspaper " La Padania ", the party newspaper of the Northern League.
