Sundance is the name of a ski area in the Wasatch Mountains of the U.S. state of Utah. The area lies on the eastern flank of Mount Timpanogos in Utah County and just is via Highway Utah -92 (also called the Alpine Loop Road) from U.S. Highway 189 or from American Fork Canyon reach.

The ski area was founded in the 1950s as Timp Haven Ski Area for the name of the mountain by a family originally Scottish immigrants. 1969 bought by the actor Robert Redford, the ski area and the associated extensive land and named it after his role names in the film Two bandits ( Original title: " Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" ), who had come to theaters in the same year. He is still the owner of the area.
