Superpipe

As a superpipe snowboard halfpipe is called, if it has a height of six feet or more. Only then it meets the competition rules of the International Ski Federation FIS and Olympic discipline " Snowboard Halfpipe ".

Super Pipes are created by mounted on groomers milling. The best-known manufacturers of such " shapers " are Kässbohrer ( Germany ), Hite Metal Oy (Finland) and Zaugg ( Switzerland ).

Constantly furnished Super Pipes, there are, among others, in the ski Arosa (Snowboard World Cup 2007 ) ( Switzerland ), Davos ( Switzerland ), Innsbruck-Seegrube/Nordkette and Hintertux Glacier, Laax ( Switzerland ), Oberstdorf ( since 1 March 2011), Saas Fee ( Switzerland ), Valle Nevado Chile, ( only Superpipe in South America ) as well as in almost all the major ski resorts in Canada, Scandinavia and the USA. Newly added is due to the first Youth Olympic Winter Games 2012, the superpipe in Kühtai in Tirol.
