Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape

The SERE training (survival, evasion, resistance- and escape- training, German for " survival, evasion, resistance and escape training " ) is preparing to avoid capture, captivity, on interrogation situations in the role of victim and escape under realistic conditions in the armed forces of the United States.

A course with similar content is performed as part of the Combat Survival Course for German and international special forces at the Special Operations Training Center in Pfullendorf and for aircrews of the Bundeswehr at the Airborne and Air Transport School in Old Town.

Course Content

The course content consists essentially of three parts.

Survival and Evasion

"Survival and avoid" includes survival training for each climatic zone. These include first aid, camouflage, land navigation, special forms of communication and the building of auxiliary tools.

Resistance and Escape

"Resistance and Escape " includes the behavior in captivity and interrogation. The training is based on the experience of previous prisoner of war - the content is secret, but it is assured that only the survival and not torture techniques are practiced. Water Survival

Part of the training is to prepare their own soldiers to the prisoner.
