Line

The father of this sun Dynasty, Vaivasvata Manu, the son of the sun god Surya. His son Ikshvaku had two sons, of whom are descended the two main lines. From Vikukshi the kings of Ayodhya derive and Nimi, the King of Mithila. The most famous representative of the sun dynasty is Rama, a prince and avatar of Lord Vishnu.

From Manus daughter Ida and her husband Budha, however, the Moon Dynasty ( Chandravamsha ) comes from.
