Susan River (Queensland)

The Susan River is a river in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland.

Geography

The river rises west of Colton, a settlement north of Maryborough. It flows west, crosses under the road from Maryborough to Hervey Bay and finally at River Heads in the Mary River just before it reaches the Great Sandy Strait. The Susan River has no tributaries.

Bridge

The road from Maryborough to Hervey Bay via the Susan River Bridge. This was created in 1977 and is passed daily by more than 10,000 cars. As recently as 2009, it received its name.

Fauna

2007 was a fisherman in the river an unusual Armflosser. The fish was the first whose genetic data was recorded in a catalog named international fish Fish Barcode of Life (FISH -BOL ). Here we turned to DNA barcoding.
