Susanne Albers

Susanne Albers ( born June 10, 1965 in Georgsmarienhütte ) is a German professor of computer science at the Technical University Munich.

After studying mathematics, computer science and business administration in Osnabrück Albers received his doctorate in 1993 at the University of Saarland. Until 1999 she worked at the Max - Planck institute for computer science, he continued with research visits to the USA, Japan and elsewhere in Europe. In 1999 she qualified as a professor and followed a call to Dortmund. Between 2001 and 2009, Albers was a professor of computer science at the Albert- Ludwigs- University of Freiburg. From 2009 to 2013 she was a professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Since 2013 she is a professor at the Technical University of Munich.

Albers worked in the field of design and analysis of algorithms, specifically online and approximation algorithms. It also deals with algorithmic game theory and Algorithms Engineering.

In 1993 she was awarded the Otto Hahn Medal of the Max Planck Society, the 2008 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the 2.5 million euros highly awarded in German research.

2010 Albers was inducted into the Leopoldina. 2011 Albers was appointed GI Fellow.
