Swather

The swather is a harvester is cut down with the crop such as grass, corn or rapeseed and placed in windrows on the ground. This method is mainly used in countries where the growing season is too short to let ripen the grain itself. If the grain not only cut down so it would not ripen under certain circumstances before winter. An alternative would be to spray the crop dead. If the grain is then abgereift, it is threshed as ours.
