Swedish Transport Administration

Trafikverket is a government agency in Sweden. It was established on 1 April 2010 and took over full duties of Banverket and Vägverkets and some of the duties of Luftfartsverket and Sjöfartsverket. The headquarters is located in Borlänge.

Trafikverket is the Swedish National Board of Transportation and carries the responsibility for all transport modes. His responsibilities include the planning of infrastructure in road, rail, sea and air transport. It is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads as well as for the development and maintenance of the railway infrastructure and the traffic management of railway operation.

In 2010, the Authority has a budget of 21.475 billion SEK (about 2.148 billion euros ) had available.
