Sweyn the Crusader

Sven Svenson, called the Crusaders, (Danish: Svend Korsfarer; * in 1050 in Denmark, † 1097 in Asia Minor ) was a Danish prince and participants of the First Crusade.

He was a son of the Danish King Sven Estridsson. He was engaged to Florine of Burgundy, daughter of the Duke Odo I of Burgundy.

Together with his fiancée, he went on the First Crusade. When she arrived in 1097 with their quota, which included two unknown bishops and 1,500 men reportedly in Constantine Opel, the main army of the crusade was already marched. So they followed alone to Asia Minor and the Rum - Seljuks were attacked while crossing the plains of Cappadocia, possibly at Philomelion by a numerically superior force. Sven and Florine were killed in the fighting.
