Åšwierki, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Świerki ( German Königswalde ) is a village in the rural community of Nowa Ruda, Poland. It is located eight kilometers north-west of Nowa Ruda ( neurodegeneration ) and is part of the powiat Kłodzki.

Geography

Świerki belongs geographically to regions of Glatz, on the northwest edge it is. North-east rises the 758 m high Königswalde Spitzberg ( Góra Włodzicka ). Neighboring towns are Sierpnice (Rudolf Waldau ) to the north, Sokolec in the northeast, Ludwikowice Kłodzkie in the east, and Krajanów Dworki ( four yards ) in the south and Bartnica and Głuszyca in the north. Across the border lie the Czech villages Šonov and Rožmitál in the southwest and Benešov u Broumova ( Straußenau ) and Janovičky in the northwest.

History

Königswalde belonged to Neuroder district in the country Glatzer and was close to the border with the Principality Schweidnitz. The first mention of it was in 1352 under the name Kunigswalde when Hans Wüsthube the rule neurodegeneration, to which it belonged, the Hensel of Donyn sold. As this branch of Viscount Donyn 1465 became extinct in the male line, Königswalde came to Georg Still Fried Rattonitz. In whose descendants it remained until the early 19th century, when on Ecker village acquired the possessions Anton Alexander von Magni. With its own share was the Freirichtergut, which has been shown since the mid-15th century and the name Heidelberg wore.

After the Silesian Wars Königswalde came together with the county of Glatz in 1763 to Prussia. After the reorganization of Prussia belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia, which was divided into counties. 1816-1853 County of Glatz, 1854-1932, the district neurodegeneration was responsible. After its dissolution in 1933 Königswalde belonged until 1945 to turn county Glatz.

As a result of World War II Königswalde in 1945 as large parts of Silesia placed under Polish administration and renamed Świerki. The German population was, if they had not fled earlier, largely expelled in 1946. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. 1975-1998 belonged to Świerki Voivodeship Wałbrzych. The parish Świerki belongs since 1992 to the diocese Swidnica ( Schweidnitz ).

1939 Königswalde 1,556 inhabitants, in the 1980s, there were 729 and now there are less than 700

Attractions

  • The parish church of St. Nicholas ( Kościół Sw. Mikołaja ) was erected in 1748 on the site of an earlier church. It has a Baroque interior.
  • Located north-east 1,100 meters long tunnel was for the railway Kłodzko - built - Wałbrzych ( Waldenburg Glatz ).
  • Chapel in the district Granicznik (Mark Basic )
