Święte, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Święte ( German Swantee, 1938-1945 Swan Lake ) is a small village in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the municipality Cewice ( Zewitz ) in the powiat Leborski ( Lauenburg county in Pomerania ).

The former estate village Święte is located southwest of Lesiaki ( Lessaken ) and can be reached from there via a country lane. Previously consisted rail connection via station Zewitz ( Cewice ) to the now disused railway line Lauenburg - Buetow ( Lębork - Bytów ).

The renaming of the former German name Swantee in swan lake found a parallel in the former East Prussian city Okrongeln ( Okrągłe ). The place name comes Święte in Poland before a total of ten times.

The Münchow family already owned a farm in Lessaken ( Lesiaki ) and a Holzkavel in Swantee, as they expanded in 1745 through the purchase of their property. Swantee was a Puttkamer cal fief, which had about 1784 Captain Kaspar Friedrich von Massow. It had two fireplaces. The last owners were Boehlke (1884), Schneider (1910 ), Hans Hugo Hilgendorff (1924 ) and Hugo Westphal on Zewitz (1928 ). Swantee that was last incorporated to Lessaken, had in 1910 a total of 29 residents.

As a town in the municipality Lessaken Swantee, which was renamed on December 29, 1937 in Swan Lake, was incorporated into the official and the civil registry district Bochowke ( Bochówko ). He belonged to the district of Stolp in Pomerania Region of the Prussian province of Pomerania. Since 1945, the village is now called Święte Polish and belongs to the Gmina Cewice in powiat Leborski in the Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Slupsk voivodship ).

Swantee was before 1945 in the Protestant parish Mickrow (now Polish: Mikorowo ) integrated, which belonged to the Church of the Old Prussian Union Church Stolp -Altstadt Ostsprengel in the ecclesiastical province of Pomerania. Since 1945 Święte part of the Catholic parish is in the deanery Mikorowo Łupawa ( Lupow ) in the diocese of Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland. The living here evangelical church members now belong to the Cross parish in Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland with the branch church in Lębork ( Lauenburg in Pomerania ).
