Świętokrzyski National Park

The Świętokrzyski National Park [ ɕf ʲ ɛntɔ'kʃɨsk ʲ i ] ( Heiligkreuz-NP. ) is one of 23 national parks in Poland ( Poland, Central Europe ).

The National Park, which was established on 1 May 1950 to 5,909 hectares, is located in the Holy Cross Mountains ( Świętokrzyskie ) in the mountain range Łysogóry. Here, there is an average of 22 km (air line) east of Kielce between cities Nowa Słupia and Święta Katarzyna.

The park consists of 95% coniferous and mixed forests. Some hillsides are " Gołoborze " covered with scree. A 16 km long trail runs through the park from west to east.

The highest elevation of the Holy Cross National Park is the Lysiec.

At the monastery Święty Krzyż on the mountain Lysiec the Museum of the National Park ( open from April 1st to October 31st).
