The Swiss Cricket Association is the Swiss Cricket 's governing body has its headquarters in Bern.

History

The umbrella organization was founded on March 9, 1978 from the commitment of seven regional cricket clubs in the Australian Embassy in Bern. The first president was Dr. David Barmes of Geneva CC. Since 1985, the Association was recognized as " Affiliate Member" at the International Cricket Council (ICC).

After the federation in 2005 because of financial problems and scarce resources no longer national teams at ECC Cups presented to instead focus on the national youth training and the referee recruitment, the SCC was 2009 set back national teams for events of ECCs and played in the third division.

In June 2012, the association was excluded from the ICC, as a second association has ( " Swiss Cricket Association "), founded by four original and now nine clubs affiliated in 2010 and claimed to represent the Crickets in Switzerland for itself. For this reason, the Association can not provide any national team in the championships more and receives from the ICC also no funding at this time.

The current president of the association since 2011 Alexander Mackay, the sixth president in the history of the association.

Competitions

The association currently has 19 clubs in a 40 -over League ( divided into 2 groups: East and West), as well as, play against each other in Mr. Pickwick T20 Cup, a Twenty20 Cup contest. In addition, there are various tournaments such as the annual held in St. Moritz Cricket on Ice.

A woman competition does not exist, because cricket is still in the development phase in Switzerland.
