SyberJet SJ30

The Emivest Aerospace SJ30 the Emivest Aerospace Corporation (EAC ) belongs to the category of light business jets. As of 2009 the series production is scheduled to start. The first model was flyable from the original manufacturer Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation Inc. ( SSAC ) completed in 1996 under the name SJ 30-2.

Manufacturer / History

The original design for the aircraft goes back to Ed Swearingen, who has already worked on the design of the Learjet. Ed Swearingen was of the opinion that the absence of a high cruising speed and range in favor of a large cabin was an aberration as opposed to other designers. For this reason, SJ30 has only a small room, but is in respect of speed and range standards.

Original manufacturer was based in San Antonio company Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation Inc. ( SSAC ). The company was struggling in its history several times with financial problems. The development of the aircraft began in the later 1980s under the name SA30 fanjet. The production proceeded slowly. The Model SJ30 -2 flies since 8 November 1996 it took flight testing until the end of 2000. For this purpose, a Taiwanese investment company grew at a Sino Swearingen and financed the expensive test procedures for obtaining American approval by the FAA in 2006. 2008 is finally carried out the acquisition of most shares by investors from the UAE.

Emivest Aerospace SJ30

By June 2008, the Company was approved by the Emivest (Emirates Investment and Development Corporation) from the UAE (80% of shares) and Taiwan almost completely taken over and renamed Emivest Aerospace Corporation (EAC ). The model SJ30 received FAA certification in October 2005. The production is in the works in San Antonio ( TX) and Martinsburg (West Virginia). Under the new management, the production should be significantly increased to 40-45 aircraft annually starting in 2010., The U.S. actor and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman has since 2009 a SJ30 (serial number 0010).

On October 20, 2010, Emivest Aerospace Corporation announced to apply for Chapter 11 bankruptcy law of the United States insolvency, with the aim to sell the business or close it. The company was sold in April 2011 based on the Cedar City (Utah ) in the course of insolvency proceedings company Metalcraft Technologies LLC for 3.5 million U.S. dollars.

SyberJet

The owner of the Metalcraft Technologies LLC David Grant was in June of 2011 to rename the company in SyberJet Aircraft and the aircraft in SyberJet. Metalcraft is since the beginning of the program, the manufacturer of the fuselage sections of the aircraft.

Technical reasons

The SJ30 is 12.90 m span, a length of 14.26 m and a height of 4.33 m relatively compact. The outstanding achievements of the SJ30 in speed and range include thanks to be able to operate in particularly large heights of their ability. The cell is designed for a pressure difference of 12 psi ( 800 mbar) to afford ( approx. 12,5 km ) prevails in the cabin up to a service ceiling of 41,000 ft, an air pressure as at sea level. The maximum service ceiling is at 49,000 ft ( nearly 15 miles), reached for comparison eg a Boeing 777 only a maximum of 43,000 ft (about 13.1 km ).

The ability to operate at high altitudes, coupled with the small cabin and a relatively low curb weight of 3.5 tons, the SJ30 allow for a maximum takeoff weight of 5987 kg 2,200 kg of fuel up to 2,500 nm ( 4,600 miles) to nonstop fly. One to two pilots and up to 7 passengers or a maximum payload of 635 kg are possible. It is powered by two Williams International FJ44 SJ30 -2A two-shaft turbofan engines.

The price of a typical SJ30 was specified on the 2008 Farnborough Air Show, with approximately U.S. $ 7.5 million.
