Sybille Binder

Sybille Binder (born 5 January 1895 in Vienna, † 30 June 1962, Dusseldorf ) was an Austrian actress.

Life

She began her theatrical career in 1915 at the Barnowsky stages in Berlin. In 1918 she went to the Munich Chamber Games under Otto Falkenberg, with whom she was married from 1920 short time. At the intimate theater she had particularly as Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream successes.

Since 1922 she again played mainly in Berlin, sometimes also in Vienna. One of her important roles was that of Lulu in Earth Spirit. In 1932 she went to an engagement in Zurich. During the Second World War and after, she lived in England.

Ties which had previously only occasionally accepted film roles, worked during the 1940s as a supporting actress in several British productions. Since 1950 they stood at Düsseldorf stages and among other things embodied therein the Duchess in Wallenstein's Death and Sidonie Knobbe in Rats.
