Sylvia Ströher

Sylvia Ströher ( * 1955 ) is a German art collector and author.

Life

Sylvia Ströher is granddaughter of George Ströher, who was born in 1891 as the second son of the founder, Franz Wella Ströher. Sylvia Ströher heard according to Forbes magazine's 50 richest Germans. The American company Procter & Gamble bought Wella 2004; the details of the purchase price varies between EUR 5.6 billion and € 6.5 billion. Of the heirs received around 3.2 billion euros.

Ströher is married to the former nurse Ulrich Ströher, both have a child. Ulrich and Sylvia Ströher own a holiday home in Pollensa, which forms the so-called Valley Shampoo with the estate of Hans -Peter Schwarzkopf.

The Ströhers have an art collection with 1,500 works, including Anselm Kiefer, Georg Baselitz and Jörg Immendorff. The original 800 works comprehensive collection in 2005 was supplemented by the comprehensive collection of 700 works of Hans Grothe and is issued Küppersmühle of Modern Art in Duisburg at the museum. So that the two are among the most important collectors of German post-war art.

Sylvia Ströher is authorized to represent the foundation's board Informal Art, based in Darmstadt; her husband Ulrich Ströher is a member of the Board of Trustees. In August 2013 it was announced that she pays the fees of the authors of the temporarily insolvent Suhrkamp Verlag.
