Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Palghat
The Diocese of Palghat (Latin: Dioecesis Palghatensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar Church, based in Palghat, India.
History
Pope Paul VI. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolic requirente on June 27, 1974 from annexations of the Eparchy of Trichur; it became the Archdiocese of Ernakulam- Angamaly assumed as suffragan.
On May 18, 1995 it became part of the ecclesiastical province of archeparchy Trichur. A part of the territory it lost on January 15, 2010 to the Eparchy Ramanathapuram.
